Alpenspektakel - a smash hit for every generation!
You'll laugh till you cry!!

"Boys, it's Showtime" - that's the motto of the Auner from the village of Westendorf (the prettiest village in Europe) in the Brixen Valley. You will see for yourself that „Showtime " means a lot more than what is normally performed at a 'Tyrolean Evening' or a 'Bierfest'.
Peter Aschaber, boss of the Auner (named after the hamlet "Au" in Westendorf) explains,
"You see, sitting playing and putting on a hat is just not good enough nowadays". The Auner are masters of 32 instruments, amongst them bagpipes, 4 alpine horns, maracas, panpipes, didgeridoo and a singing saw.

Engelbert, Peter's brother, can even play the trumpet and bass guitar at the same time. He is also the one who serenades us on the Tyrolean harp.
Master of the keys is Mario. Playing his accordion with boxing gloves, he'll leap around the hall, onto tables, over chairs, yodelling merrily! Martin and Engelbert write most of the music. Martin can play many a dreamy melody on his clarinet, hot rhythms on the didgeridoo and adds his own brand of humour to the show. He also plays five other instruments.

There's not a dry eye in the house when the boss and his colleagues slip on their kilts and turn into 'Mr. Scott'. Other sketches such as Happy Seppy, Dodo, Hutuh the caveman ….will literally have the house rocking! The music remains firmly alpine in character so that, despite many international sketches, the Tyrolean character of the show can shine through.
Most of the ideas and for the show and everyday running of the group are down to Peter Aschaber. The Spektakel is not just a hit in the Tyrol, but also right the way across Europe.

REPORT 2: The Alpenspektakel®
An absolute sensation from the Tyrol!

The Alpenspektakel is one of the most successful events in the Tyrol; each year visitors from near and far flock to see the Auner perform. In this alpine music spectacular, you are guaranteed a good laugh and lots of fun entertainment.
The musicians from the Brixen Valley often go on tour to Germany, Holland, Denmark, Belgium, Switzerland and of course around Austria – and every time their audience is absolutely spellbound.
Peter Aschaber, who plays Mr. Scott as well as five different instruments, is in charge of management and writes most of the sketches. Master of the keys is Sepp. Playing his accordion with boxing gloves, he'll leap around the hall, onto tables, over chairs, yodelling merrily! Sepp and Engelbert Aschaber are accomplished performers and most of the music stems from their pens. The team is completed by the fourth member, joker Hansl.
Hard to believe that inbetween so many performances the boys can still find time to record in their 32 track recording and broadcast video studio or work on new ideas for their next CDs and videos.
The seventh video „Sommer in Tirol “ was praised by many a music critic at its premiere showing.
Well worth a mention too is the Alpenspektakel stage painting ( 5,5m by 2.5m ) - the largest painting by the world-renowned hunting artist, Hubert Weidinger.

Multitalented Musicians !

The Auner (Brixental-Tyrol) are very much in favour of using their own ideas. They organise their own performances, and the four musicians do everything themselves from graphics down to recording their own CDs in their own recording studio. They have recorded 35 CDs up to now and have just completed one of the most time-consuming projects they have ever done – their seventh video „Sommer in Tyrol“. This was produced in their own video studio and is perfect for TV broadcast. Various TV stations are already showing clips from this new video. The Auner „Alpenspektakel®“ programme has an excellent reputation - as you can see from the sell-out performances.
With a strong new programme, new sketches and music added, with all kinds of music from folk to classical to rock, the Auner celebrate their 35 years jubilee this year. During nearly every performance the Auner present a multimedia show with up to 4 live cameras and digital effects on a huge 12m² screen.
A good deal of the music for this 3 hour show is written by themselves and Peter is the brain behind most of the sketches and choreography. Apart from a live musical extravaganza you’ll also see 32 instruments – among them the alpine horns, bagpipes, panpipes, didgeridoo, singing saw, and other strange and unusual instruments. If you enjoy a good laugh and like good music, then the Auner Alpenspektakel is a definite must.
